How to Download Your M-Pesa Statement
Get your M-Pesa PDF from Safaricom via USSD so you can import it into Jijenga.
TL;DR
Your M-Pesa statement is a PDF Safaricom emails to your registered address on request. The fastest way to get it is via USSD — no app needed.
Request your statement via USSD
Dial *334# from your Safaricom line
Open your phone dialer and call *334#. This works on any Safaricom
line — no data connection needed.
Select My Account
From the menu, select My Account (option 7).
Select M-Pesa Statement
Select M-Pesa Statement (option 3).
Choose your date range
Select how many months of history you want: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, or a custom date range.
For your first Jijenga import, 3–6 months gives you enough data to see real spending patterns.
Confirm your email address
Enter and confirm the email address where Safaricom should send the PDF. This must be an email you can access on your phone.
Check your inbox
The statement arrives within a few minutes. Check spam if it doesn't
appear. The PDF filename looks like:
M-Pesa_Statement_254XXXXXXXXX.pdf
The PDF is password-protected
Safaricom password-protects M-Pesa statement PDFs and sends you a PIN via SMS on your registered number at the same time the PDF is emailed. Check your messages for the PIN before opening the file.
When you upload to Jijenga, tap NEED PIN? and enter the PIN from that SMS.
Troubleshooting
No email after 10 minutes? Check your spam folder. If it's not there,
re-request via *334# and confirm the email address carefully — a typo
means the PDF went somewhere else.
Wrong email registered with Safaricom? Visit a Safaricom shop to update your registered email address.
Statement only covers part of the period you selected? Safaricom provides up to 12 months of history via USSD. For records older than 12 months, you need to visit a Safaricom shop in person.
